Canon Gives EOS 5D Mark II Manual Controls for HD Video

Canon has apparently heard our cries for more manual controls while shooting HD video with the EOS Mark II digital SLR. Canon will be providing a free firmware upgrade for the camera allowing for manual exposure controls such as ISO, aperture, and shutter speed.

This is all fine and good, and will give creative users more control over their content, but I want to know when they will do just the opposite and actually allow the camera to focus automatically while shooting video. It seems to me that it would be a pain to constantly have to keep your subject in focus while shooting. Well, at least none of the other cameras can auto focus yet either.

The firmware upgrade should be available in June from Canon's website.
