The Sony S37 DSLR camera has a long list of features and boasts a horde of technologies that will allow you have a one-of-a-kind shooting experience every time, and it yields fabulous results. This DSLR camera will suit your needs wherever you go, whether you are on the sidelines capturing each soccer pass or traveling around Europe shooting buildings, landscapes and portraits. The Sony A37 is a camera suited for every situation and is one of the top 10 entry-level DSLR cameras on the market today.

Sony never ceases to impress us with the technology that it includes in its consumer electronics. This DSLR is, of course, no exception. We appreciate the level of detail that went into making the A37 DSLR camera easy enough for an entry-level photographer to use while still offering features and functions that professional photographers will enjoy as well.
With a 16.1 megapixel resolution and a continuous shooting speed of seven frames per second, this DSLR camera will yield crisp, vibrant images and videos. The image sensor is a very capable 16-megapixel Exmore APS HD CMOS. This DSLR has full HD capabilities, easily tracks fast-moving subjects, and reduces blur by using expert image-stabilization techniques. It is compatible with Sony A-mount lenses.

When shooting photographs, we have a few favorite features, including the built-in auto pop-up flash, selection and creative-style modes and settings, and anti-dust technology. The built-in flash is a great design element that allows you to take great photos in dark locations.

If you have previously set the camera to Auto, Auto+ or Scene Selection mode, the flash will automatically pop up when ISO levels are too low. You have eight scene-selection modes and six creative style settings including Sports Action, Handheld Twilight Shot, Landscape and portrait. The Anti-dust Low-Pass Filter keeps your sensor clean of any dust or particles that may stick to it and ruin your photos. A static-free layer coats the sensor, and a subtle vibration shakes off the rest.

Sony is known for making top-of-the-line products with cool styling and bonus features. The Sony A37 is an entry-level DSLR camera with professional styling and features that will make you sit up and take notice. This DSLR camera is jet black with a smooth surface, except for one side that has textured material for a non-slick grip. This same side also juts out from the rest of the clean-line camera to give you a great handhold. From the front of the camera, you are able to see the self-timer lamp, control dial, lens-release button and flash pop-up button.

The back of this DSLR camera is where Sony really brought the magic. The electric viewfinder on this camera employs 1.1x magnification, 1.44 million dots and 100 percent frame coverage. Inching down, you will see the 2.7-inch LCD monitor. At 230,000 dots, it is lower-resolution than we would like, but it does tilt vertically to enable shooting at multiple angles.

Sony provides a variety of help and support options such as live chat support and a user manual, which are both excellent options for receiving answers to your technical questions. If you are having issues while you're away from your computer, however, this DSLR camera has a built-in help guide that you can access whenever you need to, wherever you are. Simply highlight the function button or mode you are having trouble with on the monitor and the Help Guide will display information regarding that function.

The A37 boasts a 200-page user manual that is packed with step-by-step instructions, diagrams and graphics that all explain, in-depth, how to use your camera. The index is well-organized by topic.

Sony also provides a model-specific support page on its website, complete with access to manual downloads, product registration, news and alerts, and a support forum. You can contact Sony by telephone or speak to a support representative via the site's live chat feature. We accessed this support option but were required to wait awhile for help and, when it finally came, Sony transferred us to yet another representative.
